Bessie St in east Windermere FL leads to Lake Bessie. Bessie Street is a fairly short street and has very few homes on it. Many people are so focused on driving by this street on their way to The Grove or Main Street they never notice this humble but beautiful road.
Bessie St is on the south side of E 6th Avenue about half way between Main Street and Conroy Windermere Road. You can only turn south onto this street and Windermere does frown on those using the neighborhood streets to get around the occasional traffic on the main through fares. Bessie like most streets in the town is a dirt road and somewhat narrow anyway.
Bessie Street has no really old homes on it. At least not when compared to the oldest homes in the town. However the homes are quaint, well kept and most people would be pleased with one. The street is well shaded as the trees have had so much time to mature. The road is kept smooth by the city.
If you choose to drive down this street be patient and drive as if you are a guest. It's ok to be courteous to those who are out walking and say good morning with a smile. That is what Windermere is all about. To bad more streets in the world are not like Bessie St in Windermere FL.
