Windermere FL has some amazing local restaurants. Often those restaurants may be a little inconspicuous. Hidden away gems have always been my favorite regardless what types of food they offer. They provide the opportunity to see more locals than tourist. Since Windermere has so many attractions nearby that matters to many local residents.
The restaurants in Windermere are somewhat spread out. There are a few in Windermere Town and at The Grove. Northern Windermere restaurants are somewhat limited but the residents are very close to Ocoee FL and Winter Garden FL which both have some restaurants worth visiting.
One of the overlooked locations, often driven right by is the Lakeside Village area in southwest Windermere. There are thousands of Windermere residents and you know some of them love a good breakfast or afternoon meal. Those wants and needs have not gone unnoticed. Below is a list of our favorites located around the city. Please keep in mind that I have no preference for cultures just taste bud sensations and atmosphere.
Although somewhat limited due to the overall size of Windermere Town and of course the cost of real estate here there are some great options. Each of the ones listed below are slightly different and well established. Lifestyle is what Windermere FL markets. Each of these Windermere restaurants definitely compliment the lifestyle and overall vibe of the city.
Pizza 14 is a local must if you live in or near Windermere Town. If it's late in the afternoon then it's even worth picking up a pie as you drive through the city. The atmosphere is amazing and you absolutely get hooked after just one visit. Customer service is second to none which, let’s face it is a rarity in today’s world. Expect Pizza 14 to be around for a long time. If it's to far for you to drive try this list of Pizza in Windermere.
The Dixie Cream Café is a well-established part of the Windermere scene. Its bright colors make it a memorable part of any drive through Windermere Town and a quick stop by will just provide a couple of taste bud sensations to recall later. The café offers traditional American food and you can dine in or get takeout. Think French Café but pancakes and sandwiches. Ooh-la la, the Dixie Cream Café.
First please keep in mind that my intentions are not to overlook any smaller restaurants. My primary focus is to recommend places which are most in line with the Windermere FL lifestyle. Namely Windermere restaurants which will give you fond memories opposed to just a memory. For east Windermere let’s start off with an incredibly classy one.
The Feather and Quill is located in The Grove. In fact, and somewhat ironically it is located just outside of the Windermere LA Fitness. I guess there is now one more reason to stay in shape. The Feather and Quill is the classiest restaurant in the city.
Upscale and well worth the money. Out of the local restaurants they also have by far the most professional and beautiful website. Menu and offerings include a happy hour, pizzas, burgers and fine dining. You will be proud to visit or recommend this Windermere restaurant.
Hawker’s street food is where class meets Asian Culture and fine cuisine. Definitely with an oriental flair Hawkers will give those who want to venture outside their typical "dining out" a great local experience. True there are some great options to the south of this restaurant but I bet some of the patrons here are from Dr Phillips. Hawkers offers what they call bold and unapologetic Asian street food. Street food and venders are far more popular in Asia and South America than in Orlando. Hawkers offers those flavors but with climate control and a great bar.
Out West, how do we define that? Since we are sticking with Windermere let’s say the area around Windermere Village and the Cornerstone at Summerport. There is only one fine dining location here at least in our opinion. That is Bella Tuscany in Windermere FL.
Bella Tuscany is a well-established part of Windermere FL lifestyle and culture. I do not know how many times I have gone with clients to this restaurant. Although it kind of looks like a hole in the wall from the exterior the inside is vibrant, classy and inviting.
In my opinion the food does not disappoint. Some of the offerings are flatbreads, pastas, fantastic appetizers, incredible pizza and yes, a fine bar. If you like the classy vibrant Italian restaurants’ feel then you will love Bella Tuscany in Windermere FL.
Yes another varied dining option for those willing to drive or that live in SW Windermere. Windermere can always make room for a Florida based and founded restaurant. That is what you have here. Founded just under 30 years ago in Winter Park FL and now with over 200 restaurants. They must be doing Tex-Mex right.
For those living along the periphery of Windermere you will be glad to know and explore the restaurants near Windermere FL. They actually encircle the city and many are fairly high quality. Keep in mind we border Disney property to the south and there are quite a few restaurants there as well.
There are plenty that at least deserve honorable mention. There are also some franchises that have recently opened like Gators Dockside, Panera Bread, Keeke’s Breakfast Café and the Little Greek Grill at the Westside Shoppes. Don’t forget the French Café at the Lakeside Village Center. All great places to eat and all worth of being on our list of Windermere Restaurants.
