Lake Rhea is in north Windermere FL. Lake Rhea is a small relatively untouched lake in the Reserve at Belmere. The lake also has a street named after it in this community that is named Lake Rhea Drive. There are homes on the south side of the lake in The Willows as well.
Lake Rhea is not all just beautiful water. The eastern part of the lake is very natural. By that I mean covered in lily's, lake grass and other types of natural vegetation. This is all necessary to help the lake keep itself clean and provide habitat for some of the local wild life we all enjoy viewing. Thankfully the community and county have protected it.
Lake Rhea only has 11 acres and is not sampled by the county very often. Not even every couple of years. The reason is no public access helps keep out contaminants by living and for example hydrilla the lake killer. Hopefully runoff from the local communities will not harm the lakes natural appeal.
