Lake Street Park In Windermere does have a downside. make sure you watch where you step because the when the water level is a little higher in the rainy season you can get a squishy surprise. Those benches etc. look inviting but you don't want to get stuck there, if you know what I mean.

That being said this is a great place to walk to or around if you stay on the more beaten path. Parking is terrible but it is meant primarily for town residents. Trust me, there will not likely be a crowd there when you arrive. There are different locations along the east shore of Lake Down.
