Disney's Blizzard Beach should reopen in spring of 2023. It has been closed for refurbishment as it was up next after Typhoon Lagoon. With competition like Volcano Bay and the many other attractions nearby Blizzard Beach is attempting to take a major leap ahead. Will they? Probably because the park is already amazing and unique. Let's dive in a bit further and see why you should consider visiting it.
Disney's Blizzard Beach was the 3rd waterpark to be built in the park. It joined River Country and Typhoon Lagoon. If you have not heard of River Country that is probably because it closed 20 years ago. Blizzard Beach is based upon a ski resort having a freak snow storm and when the snow melted it was converted into the water park. Sounds believable right? The mascot is Ice Gator who is blue and knows how to ski. Ice Gator is a distant relative of Lagoon Gator who is red and the mascot over at Typhoon Lagoon.
Upon entering the park you will pass by the Beach Haus. This is your chance to purchase merchandise and a couple of necessities like the waterproof phone case you forgot and some comfortable shoes that are water friendly just in case. You can also rent storage lockers and towels or purchase swimwear if your visit was spontaneous.
Hopefully after the renovations the chairlift will still be here. It is one of the unique things about the park. The main attractions include Mount Gushmore where most of the waterslides are located and Meltaway Bay which is the wave pool. There are plenty of options for all ages and eateries inside of the park. It is not my favorite local waterpark but if like many you are a huge Disney fan it may end up being one of your top two. Thank you for visiting our site and we hope you have a blast at Disney's Blizzard Beach.
