Cypress Lake in west Windermere FL has somewhat of a special place in Windermere. it is not connected to Lake Butler or any other lake although it is near them. It is however providing its shoreline to Windermere Preparatory School, Waterstone on Lake Butler and Kelso on Lake Butler. Three really valuable places in this city.
Cypress Lake is a private lake with no official public use ramp. I believe there is a private ramp at one of the homes and there have been boats launched from a lot on the south side of the lake. Still trouble awaits if you use this lake without permission.
The lake does have a lot of open water and people do make use of the lake. It is attractive and is just another place to fish and enjoy the native wildlife which is plentiful around Lake Butler. Lakes like these can be true gems as they are often overlooked for not being connected to the chain.
As of the day I write this the lakes water quality is good. The lake was checked in June of 2022. The overall surface area is 65 acres and it has a mean depth of 14 feet. This lake holds approximately 279 million gallons. I hope this answers any questions about Cypress Lake in Windermere FL.
