The Dr. Phillips Center For The Performing Arts is located near Downtown Orlando. The actual address is 445 South Magnolia Avenue which is a scant 14 miles from Windermere FL. Once you start learning about this area you will see how important a few names are to this area. Names like Chase, Keene and Phillips played a vital role in the development and direction of Windermere and the surrounding areas.
The center opened on November 6th of 2014 and is now a well established and respected hub of performing arts in the state of Florida. There is a 2,700 seat main theater or amplified hall and a smaller 300 seat theater for smaller shows. For those who love a great symphony there is Steinmetz Hall which has the highest possible acoustical rating. Steinmetz Hall can transform into a banquet hall, proscenium hall or a symphony concert hall.
The performing arts center is a busy place. There are constantly new shows being announced and donors get notified of the shows so they can purchase tickets first. At least that is the case on most occasions. I am a performing arts fan but only certain venues interest me. We all have our favorites and mine is a great orchestra. Somewhat odd for a reformed metalhead.
Of course that is up to you. However I bet if you watch the schedule you will find a performer or show that you find interesting. Theater is much more than that. It is sampling the finer things in life and hopefully a great experience, a getaway and opportunity to focus on something other than the challenges life provides daily. Give it a try, visit the Dr Phillips Center For The Performing Arts.
