Lake Burden in Windermere FL is a private lake. Lake Burden is located in southern Windermere Florida and yes the Lake Burden community does set alongside of some of the lakes shoreline and a couple of canals which lead to the lake.
As stated above Lake Burden is a private lake. The primary access is in Keenes Pointe which has the only true boat ramp that I am aware of. That is one of the reasons why you rarely see motorized boats on the lake. Smaller watercraft like Seadoos and Kayaks can be launched with a little creativity.
This lake is not a member of the Butler Chain or any other chain. It lives its life solo and that has worked quite well for it. The last day I visited this lake it was pristine and shockingly clear. Not many lakes anywhere were as clear as this one. Being private certainly helps cut back on foreign invaders being brought in like Hydrilla etc.
Lake Burden has a total surface area of around 129 acres or 1/5 of a square mile. The lake holds around 750 million gallons and has a mean depth of 18 feet which is surprisingly deep. The shoreline is occupied by Keenes Pointe, Lake Burden and Casa Del Lago. All fine communities which complement Lake Burden in Windermere FL.
