Lake Whitney in north Windermere FL is inside of the Reserve at Belmere. There are a lot of special things about this lake. A great contributor is the community. Lake Whitney has no official boat ramp. I think I would have seen it by now and I have not. However, there are motorized boats, Seadoos and of course kayaks etc. that venture out onto the lake. It is pretty safe when you know all of the people on the lake and recognize them.

Lake Whitney is isolated in the sense that it is not connected to another lake. However the lake is large enough to more than serve its purpose. The southern side has a lot of natural vegetation so the wildlife is relatively content and of course the home owners in this community are happy with their lakefront mansions. Every resident of this community can visit the fitness center and look out over the lake while enjoying an airconditioned workout. That is the Windermere Lifestyle so many dream about.

the total surface area of the lake is approximately 40 acres which is plenty of room for water sports. Excess water flows from this lake into Lake Crescent and from there onto Lake Butler.
