RD Keene Park is one of the more high-profile parks in Windermere FL. With a park entrance located between Isleworth, The Reserve at Lake Butler Sound and Keenes Pointe thousands drive by it each day.
The namesake of the park is actually in a hall of fame for his contributions to the citrus industry. This 51.28-acre park and for that matter Keenes Pointe would possibly not be the same without him.
Inside of the park there are numerous fields for sports, playground’s, bathrooms and a public (for a fee) boat launch. The fee is nominal and at times I have gotten to launch for free here. Parking spaces are available for up to 48 boat trailers at any given time. If you are looking to get out onto the Butler Chain of Lakes, I only know of two public launches to accommodate you and this is one of them. This launch places you on Lake Isleworth (formerly Palmer).
As you can see in the video this is definitely a great place. Convenient location, great facilities and boat ramp second to none in this area. Another great thing about this park is how often it is actually used by people. It is always a shame to see a park which is not being used. Not the case here as there are just about always families there with their children. See you soon at RD Keene Park.
