W 3rd Avenue located in Windermere Florida is actually in the Town of Windermere. W 3rd Avenue is located on the west side of Main Street just north of Family Church. Coming from the north you will see tennis courts on your left then take the immediate right. Coming from the south you will notice the church on your left then turn.

W 3rd Ave is another street in the city that just stretches 3 blocks or just under 1/4 the of a mile in length. This street becomes Pine Street, slowly turns 90 degrees and goes on for some distance toward Wauseon Bay. More on that street later.

There are only 9 homes along this street. By along I do not mean with an address on the street. I mean they line this street. More than one of these homes is actually fairly old and a pretty high percentage of the residences are much older than average in this city. The oldest residence is on the south corner of W 3rd Avenue and Palm Street. The home was built in 1925 and the home behind it was built in 1930. Amazing right? To be built that long ago and still standing.  Although the home built in 1925 has over 3,000 square feet it is dwarfed by the home directly to the west of it.

The history in this city just keeps hanging on. Why? Because it is interesting just like the older homes. If you ever get to go in a home that is somewhat original and built in the 1920's You will see what I mean. Give me technology and AC any day.
